I Grew up in the great state of RI, Portsmouth to be exact. Memories of growing up in RI:
-
Trips to Fenway Park. I was seven the first time I went with my dad. We saw the Sox play the Yankees…Sox won 9-8.
-
Hanging out at the beach. We used to go a lot in the summer; beach volleyball, cliff diving, wake boarding, etc. My favorite was 2nd beach.
-
Playing sports with my friends. I especially remember playing basketball at the gym on the Naval Base. Because my dad was not in the military I wasn’t allowed in, so we would sneak in the side door. Kind of makes you question military security when they couldn’t keep a 14 year old out of their gym.
-
Working at McDonald’s. My illustrious career began at 14 and ended rather unceremoniously at 18. I worked with my sister, she was a manager and I am sure she “wrote me up” more than once.
I now live in Toronto, Ontario and pastor Affinity Church. Some things I enjoy now:
-
Hanging with the family.
-
Playing softball. I play on 2 teams each season. One is with our church (we are the defending champs), and I also play on a city team. I like to meet new people.
-
Golfing, golfing, golfing! I am a bogey golfer, occasionally I get hot and shot in the 80′s.
-
Kicking back and watching a good movie or TV Show. Saw Date Night recently, great movie. Some great movies I have seen recently are Toy Story 3 (Kendall and JJ would be devastated if I didn’t include that one) Robin Hood and Star Trek. My favorite shows are The Office(never missed an episode-thanks PVR), Modern Family, and Survivor.
-
The Boston Red Sox…when possible, my social calendar is planned around their schedule. The guy in Fever Pitch…that’s me…I even have a tattoo to prove it.

Bet you didn’t know that my first job ever was at McD’s. I was 14. 14! That’s what happens when you live in South Carolina and they are hiring kids before they legally should. I did the birthday parties for all the kids. I remember coming home and smelling so nasty like burnt grease. ACK!
I remember the burnt grease smell too. It took about 3 showers to get the smell out.
Oh the good old days!! I miss the beach and the Naval base
I also have to say Go Soxs!! Your family is beautiful I am so happy for you guys who would have thought all those years ago where we would all end up
Barry and I think of you guys often as a matter of fact we found an old picture of the two of you a week ago and had a good laugh. Take care!

Jarret,
My wife and I are thinking about coming to Toronto for the fun of it this summer…..any great places to hang out and see?
If you have any ideas please let me know.
Yeah man, there’s a lot of cool places to go, all depends on what you are looking to do. The CN Tower is an obvious choice, but it is a lot of fun to do. Also, there is some really good fishing country north of Toronto…lots of fun things to do in T-Town.
We are 30-45 outside the city, but you are welcome at our place anytime!
